One of the friendliest birds in the forest, the Fantail appears to dance in the air. It accompanies the visitor to the bush with a speedy aerobatic display of loops, twirls, even somersaults. Bold and seeming to enjoy the presence of people, the agile Fantail is actually hunting the small insects being flushed out of hiding by the movement of visitors. By anybody’s standard Fantails grow up fast. Fantails need to be good hunters to keep up with the demand of feeding their babies every ten minutes. Fed up to 100 times a day, they mature from hatchling to adult in 15 days.
